The Amazing Spider Island #3: Saviors's visit

Man, what happened last night? Ugh, all I remember was feeling really hot, smoke and... flames. GASP! I quickly sit upright and find myself in a hospital room. Again? Wait a minute, my hoody! They took it! Oh no! Im starting to sweat with worry. What if im not in a hospital at all? What if im in area 51 like all those other freaks?! No, no!

Mom, “[ZapMan]! You're awake! Its ok, you're in a hospital. How are you feeling?”

My mom? Dad? They are sitting beside my bed on a couch. Wait, so, im not in area 51? Something tells me im in a bigger problem than before knowing my mom. She looks calm now, but I know her...
I try to talk but I notice an oxygen mask over my face. Then I start taking notice of my surroundings. The room is mostly white and clean, but now I notice this is one of those emergency rooms with the curtain separating the room from the main hallway. Ok, now back to me, the oxygen mask fits comfortably so I'll try to talk to my parents.

Me, “Hi mom, whats up pops? (cough!)”
Aww man! My throat! Its so itchy and makes my voice sound raspy.

Dad, “That was some stunt you pulled back there last night. I still cant believe you managed to save that man! I'm so proud of you!”

He's... alive? I-i saved him! Yes!

My mom quickly put on a sour face and starts yelling, “What were you thinking?! You could have been killed!!!!”

That’s true, I could have died back there if the paramedics had not shown up. Luckily my dad steps in to defend me.

Dad, “He saved a live and wasn’t afraid of giving his own! He's a hero! The man he saved is even being strolled out here because he wants to thank him personally!.”

Really? I must have made quite the impression. I should be glad that i'm alive, but i'm more grateful that nobody seems to suspect that I had the help of some super powers to achieve what I did. Phew! Just then, the curtain in front of the room opens and two nurses stroll in a patient lying on a bed. One of the nurses says, “ Good Morning [ZapMan]. Do you recognize this man? Hes the one you pulled out of the fire last night. Even with a bullet wound, he constantly insisted he wanted to meet you to give his thanks.”

They roll him over by my bed and he looks me dead in the eyes. I had not gotten a chance to see his face clearly in the smoke last night, but now I see that he is an American middle aged man. He looks to be in horrible condition, with cuts and bandages all over. But then I focus back on him and he starts to speak.

Man, “You've got some guts kid. I'd be a goner if you hadn't been there. I promise to keep out of trouble from now on, haha!” he tries to make humor, but his attempts are only met with pain as he begins coughing up a lung, metaphorically speaking. Before I can accept his praise, the nurses pull him closer to my bed and... he slips what feels like a card into my hand. He tries to play it off by saying,

“You are capable of great things. We could use more people like you in this world.” After finishing his fishy speech, I start thinking, should I mention the card right now? No, there is a reason he gave it to me secretly, so ill just keep quiet for now. They stroll him off and, well everything plays out like usual at the hospital. Luckily the doctor said I recovered faster than he predicted so he let me go early. Me and my parents drive off to home and I just stay thinking about all this that’s been happening recently. Even after all this, I'm still not ready to tell my parents about my...condition. All i'm wondering is, will I ever be?
